This Friday! First photo session at Studio 34
By admin | April 15, 2008
Our first test run of this project is three days away!
We will be shooting this friday!
- Venue: Studio 34, located at 4522 Baltimore avenue, on the #34 trolley line. The entrance is a doorway leading up narrow stairs to a large second floor space. If the stairs might be a problem for accessibility, please let us know. The floor of the warmup space is brand new hardwood. The actual shoot space will be thin marley over hardwood. We’ll have a board of some sort for tap/flamenco. The lounge area will have some light snacks and water, and dancers are encouraged to hang out and make some new connections. Click here for a map.
- Time: 5pm-10pm (and maybe going later if we have a lot of walk-ups.
- Scheduling: We will be photographing in ten minute sessions, where every other time slot will be open to walk-ups. We’ve got a great volunteer crew helping coordinate logistics, but we’re not sure how many walk-ups will be coming, so please be prepared to hang out in the lounge a bit before your turn in front of the camera.
A few more things we could use for this friday:
- If anyone knows any local business that would want to donate some food platters or cases of water, that’d be great!

First photo session for How Philly Moves is less than two weeks away!
By admin | April 9, 2008
Things are getting exciting as we plan for our first photo session for this project!
We’re still looking for a few extra spare hands to help coordinate these first two shoots, so if you’d like to get involved, drop JJ a line.
Stage managers in particular would be helpful, but we’d appreciate help from any friendly person who can spare us a few hours.
The first shoot will be held on friday April 18th at Studio 34 in west philly. We’ll start working out the scheduling details tomorrow. If you haven’t already registered, then use the signup form!
Thanks!

By admin | April 9, 2008
You can download some flyers for our preliminary photo sessions below.
Please print, photocopy, post and distribute them!
(if you think these aren’t the most compelling flyers you’ve ever seen, don’t forget that we’re looking for volunteer graphic designers to support this project… hint hint)

Online registration form is ready!
By admin | April 2, 2008
I just finished setting up an online registration form, you can find it here. Preliminary shoots are still scheduled for April 18th and 27th!
If you’re one of the people who first expressed interest in the project by sending an email to the “info@” address, please take a moment to complete this form. This will make it a lot easier for us to handle the logistics involved in these photo sessions.
Thank you!

Later on, we’ll be looking for, among other things:

HPM blog is up!
By admin | April 2, 2008
Hi all!
We’re still in the early stages of working out logistics for our proposal and preliminary shoots, and setting up a blog seemed like a useful thing to do to to help keep everyone updated on what’s going on with this project.
Stay tuned for more info!
