[Update: the 2nd paint day is scheduled for Sunday December 12, 12-3pm. Click here for info]
Thanks to everyone who came out to help during the Mural Arts Program‘s first community paint day for How Philly Moves! With over two hundred people joining in to help paint Karmen and Darlin, the event was pretty fantastic…
Lead muralist Jon Laidacker and his team had a great time working with all of you; the energy of the day is captured in this great blog post by Marilyn MacGregor. Unfortunately designer JJ Tiziou wasn’t able to attend as he was photographing a friend’s wedding in Kentucky, but he looks forward to getting his hands dirty and painting with you at the next one.
If you enjoyed the paint day or would like to find out about future ones, make sure to sign up here and also on the Mural Arts Website… there are so many other great murals under production in the city that there’s always a chance to get involved with a community paint day somewhere!
See below for the first finished figure that you helped paint! – thanks to Jon Laidacker for sharing the photos. See more in his album on facebook.
